- Hawk Walk program. Join us as we learn more about Red-Tailed Hawks by viewing our ambassador hawk, Ruby up close! We will explore portions of our new property to show what makes the area a good habitat for hawks and release a hawk patient who is ready to return to the wild. (The release is contingent on the bird passing its final examination)

- Biodiversity Bioblitz: Join Tamarack Wildlife Center, Erie Bird Observatory, and Allegheny College for an exciting BioBlitz along the beautiful Cussewago Creek! This self-guided, family-
friendly event invites participants (minimum 8 years or older) to help document the diversity of plants, birds, insects, and other wildlife that call this area home.
Experts along the trail will assist you in species identification. Please register in advance. Instructions will be emailed to you.

- Connecting with Birds: Bird Banding and Bird Boxes: Join Tamarack Wildlife Center and Erie Bird Observatory for a bird banding and nest box event at Cussewago Creek! Get an up-close look at wild birds as trained researchers safely band them. Participants will also explore the importance of nest boxes and how to support local bird species in their own backyards. Perfect for all ages, this engaging event offers a unique opportunity to connect with birds and the science that helps protect them. Pre-registration is appreciated.

- Dark Sky Event: Experience a relaxing evening of watching the stars come out near Cussewago Creek. Richard Gosnell, Penn State Behrend astronomy lecturer and a Kripalu trained Mindful Outdoor Guide, will explain the basics of calming your mind for observing nature at twilight and the basics of viewing the stars of the night sky. We will discuss how avian behavior changes during twilight; how birds use the night sky; and the dangers of artificial light to wildlife. Bring a lawn chair and dress for the weather. In the event of rain or inclement weather, the program will be canceled.
