Open House

Join us for our annual Open House!

Sunday, October 6th, 2024

1pm to 4pm, no pre-registration required.

This is a free family-friendly event great for people of all ages. Meet our non-releasable “ambassador” hawks, owls, and falcons presented “on the glove” by handlers for the public to view up close and personal. Children’s crafts and activities, tours of the admissions facilities, educational displays, and refreshments are other highlights.

There will be a raffle, and clothing, wildlife photos, and center memberships will be available for purchase. The center’s licensed rehabilitators, educators, and volunteers will be onsite to answer questions and discuss exciting successes of the past year.

Participants at this event must utilize roadside parking. Limited handicapped parking will be available.

Onsite Programs

Schedule a personal program! Onsite 1-hour live animal programs can be arranged for groups up to 35 people. See our education page for more information or call the center at 814-763-2574. Click here to learn more about our programs.

Tours

Currently, we have limited availability to provide onsite tours of our facilities. These are available only when staffing and patient caseload permit and have a suggested donation of $5/person. Please e-mail Tamarack Outreach and Education Manager, Melissa Goodwill, at melissa@tamarackwildlife.org to inquire about availability and scheduling.

Note, no wildlife patients can be viewed during a tour. This is necessary in order to minimize stress to our patients and keep them wild, in preparation for their release.
